How many links….

….can I get in one blog, just to prove that I really can do it and yesterday wasn’t a fluke?!
Launchcast is still not loading, so I’ve been playing lots of CDs instead. (Can you see where I’m going with this?)
I had on The Zutons yesterday (Did you see that link there?!), but after about the 124th play, Lin got bored with it so I put on The Animals (What about that one?!). Woah!! Two links in one sentence!!
Today started in a very slobby manner, with neither of us feeling like doing much. Adam’s football had been called off so he just stayed in bed.
Olivia hunted for funnies to do linky things with….okaaay, I may possibly have had a look or two as well….
And CDs this morning were Amy Winehouse followed by The Levellers.
I will be the first to admit that I have a somewhat eclectic taste in music.
Olivia spent most of the time prancing around with her guitar, “I haven’t practised for ages!” She’s trying to teach herself with this book.
She looked up the Bible references for the sayings she’d found yesterday. We’ve had this project book for a while now and she’s finally motivated enough to actually start it!
She’s almost finished her Egyptian colouring book, I was going to put a link here but it was a boring one. Even I have some standards!
Ugly Betty last night was good, I may even watch it again next week, provided I remember it’s on. The only downside being that I nearly broke my leg in the panic to turn off the TV before Big Brother came on! And there is no way on earth that I’ll be putting in a link to that nonsense! It would only encourage them and they really don’t need that!!!
Olivia did a couple more pages in her science work book. I then spent the rest of the afternoon trying to persuade her to do some more workbooks. So I could practice my stupendous linking skills. Horrible child wouldn’t play along though…
Think she’s already trying to wean me off my new-found link obssesion….
We had dinner. It was alright. Then we had dessert (most definitely *not* a pudding!).
We made it. And it was good!!! I’d do a link here but I can’t remember where I got it, may have been Vegan Lunchbox, not sure. Chocolate mousse. Oh my giddy aunt, it was good!!
Here is the recipe:
2 avocadoes
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup cocoa
Throw it all in a food processor (we just used our hand blender), chill and enjoy. (How easy is that?!)

Yummy!

It said it should make enough for 3-4 servings….HA! It’s chocolate! It’s me and Olivia! There was barely enough for the two of us!!
Oh my! Oh my! Oh my!
It was scrum-diddly-umptious!!! All chocolatey, all velvety, all….all….all….
Oh yes, we will be making this one again! A lot!!!

Stupid Question Of The Day:
(While doing a page in her science book)
“I’ve finished now. Shall I stop?”
“Um….yeah.”

And bizarre question of the day came after we’d sat down for dinner. She’d previously been talking about more sayings from the Bible, ‘thou’s’ and ‘thy’s’ etc, then suddenly blind-sided me with:
“Why was Nanny Essey called Nanny Essey?”
“Um….because that’s her name….?”
(Nanny Essey was my step-dad’s mum, Olivia’s step-great-nanny, a lovely, lovely lady who died in December 2005. I was a little nonplussed, Olivia didn’t have a clue why she’d suddenly thought of Nanny Essey.)

Oooh…. links…. bear with me, I will try to find some useful ones and not get distracted by silly videos on Youtube….but then again….no, I will be sensible….but they are quite funny….no, I will be a grown-up….but they make me laugh….no, I will be an amazing facilitator of knowledge for my daughter….but have you seen the one….NO. Must. Back. Away. From. Youtube…..oh, sod it! Laugh (or not!) at the monkey!
I will try being a grown-up tomorrow and see how I feel….

  1. thanks for that recipe, Jo - couldn’t get much easier, could it?! I am going to make it and not tell the kids what’s in it, do you think it will fool them? ;)

  2. Don’t use too ripe avocadoes! They leave a bit of a tang, but we both like them anyway so we didn’t mind!
