Bouncy Bouncy!!!

Ha ha ha!!! Just because I can!!!

We were heading out to Chagford today to visit Olivia’s Nan and Grandad. We got the bus. It was bouncy!
It’s normally quite bouncy, but today it was the bounciest I have ever known it to be. It was very bouncy…. incredibly bouncy. We actually left the seat quite spectacularly at one point! It was so bouncy, I had to turn to Olivia on more than one occasion to remark, “Cor blimey, ain’t this bouncy?!”
I’m really not sure if I have a wide enough vocabulary to express the sheer bounciness of the ride…. might have to try again later!

Anyway, we had a lovely day in Chagford. Olivia moaned a bit about being hauled out of bed at the ‘awful’ time of 8.30…. I’ve threatened her with one day getting the 8.20 bus…. she ate her breakfast in a somewhat subdued manner after that.

We took Flat Hershey with us, and got a few strange looks as we photographed her outside the church and in the square with Olivia…. though it might have been my David Bailey tendency to ‘pose’ daughter and a small laminated horse….
Hershey was also introduced to the chickens and Grandad’s robins, who loiter with intent, waiting for Grandad to put bread out. One on a bird table and one in the chicken run. Under the circumstances, I think I got a fairly good photo…. well, you try posing Hershey with a robin! Oh, and I forgot the pony at the bottom of the lane who likes carrots…. and Olivia’s scarf.

I’d already bought sprouts, mushrooms, babycorn and carrots for Christmas while we were in the square, and before we left, Olivia helped her Nan dig up some turnips and leeks from the garden. What with the onions from the other day, this year must be the year of the vegetables….
One less turnip actually, the resident slugs didn’t want to vacate the premises….eewww! Olivia is worried what we’ll find in the others! And so am I!

We got the bus home. And it was bouncy again!!! Yay!!! We don’t need to go to Alton Towers or Chessington, a return ticket to Chagford will do us just fine, thank you very much!

We’d said goodbye to Adam this morning before we’d left, again reminding him of his ‘wisdom’ not to buy a train ticket well in advance. I was fully expecting him to still be here when we got home, but there appears to be no sign of him. But then, that would be like proving I was right wouldn’t it? And we can’t possibly have that now can we?!! I’ll just have to wait for a call to say he eventually got to London!

I wasn’t planning on going anywhere tomorrow, but there are still about 5 cards to deliver, no, make that 8. Looks like there may be a few phone calls instead now…. Lack of sleep the other night is starting to catch up.
